Cape Town is gearing up for a heartfelt festive celebration as The Heartsong Collective presents The Love & Light Christmas Fest — a one-night-only Christmas concert set to take place on Friday, 5 December 2025 at the historic St George’s Cathedral. The evening promises an unforgettable blend of soaring harmonies, unity, and holiday joy.
This special concert brings together three dynamic choirs sharing one stage:
- The Heartsong Collective
- The Cape Town Children’s Choir
- Usapho Creatives
Audiences can look forward to a rich and uplifting programme, with classics such as Silent Night and Feliz Navidad, along with contemporary favourites including A Million Dreams, performed by a diverse group of choristers representing multiple communities, cultures, and backgrounds. Expect moments that are joyful, moving, and deeply inspirational — the kind of music that reminds us what the festive season is truly about.
A key element of this concert is its purpose: giving back. A portion of the proceeds will support Salt River Secondary School, helping them purchase much-needed musical instruments and basic school supplies. Members of the public who wish to donate musical instruments directly to the school are encouraged to contact Creative Director Lynne Poulsen.
“We believe in the power of singing together to heal, uplift, and transform,” says Poulsen. “This concert is about sharing hope, love, and the joy that music brings.”
The event reinforces the choir’s slogan: Sing. Connect. Transform. It represents their journey from a small community choir into a movement promoting unity, artistic collaboration, and social upliftment.
