Montreux Jazz Festival Franschhoek has completed the programme for its historic inaugural edition with the announcement of internationally acclaimed artists Matt Hansen and Tigran Hamasyan, alongside emerging South African ensemble Caleb Dlamini & Friends.
The festival will take place from 27 to 29 March 2026 in the Franschhoek Valley, marking the first time the legendary Montreux Jazz Festival is staged on African soil. The three-day event will bring together nearly 40 international stars, African innovators and rising talent in a celebration of musical discovery and collaboration.
Organisers have also confirmed that Grammy-winning vocalist Lalah Hathaway will join acclaimed pianist and producer Robert Glasper and special guest Bilal for a rare live collaboration during the festival.
The final artist announcement adds further depth to a programme designed to showcase both established global performers and the next generation of musicians. Singer-songwriter Matt Hansen will bring a contemporary voice to the line-up, while Armenian pianist and composer Tigran Hamasyan will perform at the Jazz Village stage in the town’s historic church venue.
Completing the announcement is Caleb Dlamini & Friends, a dynamic young collective from Franschhoek led by 17-year-old drummer Caleb Dlamini. His inclusion highlights the festival’s commitment to supporting emerging South African talent and creating opportunities for young musicians to share the stage with internationally recognised artists.
Across the weekend, the festival will unfold across multiple venues in the Cape Winelands, combining world-class live performances with food, wine and cultural experiences that celebrate the character of the Franschhoek valley.
