Tiger Brands has officially opened its new R200 million food production facility in Paarl, marking a significant investment in local manufacturing and the future of South Africa’s food industry.

The symbolic ribbon-cutting ceremony was attended by Western Cape Premier Alan Winde, Tiger Brands executives, employees and members of the media before guests were taken on a guided tour of the state-of-the-art facility. The investment reflects the company’s commitment to strengthening its production capabilities while supporting economic growth in the Western Cape.

The Paarl facility produces some of South Africa’s most recognisable pantry favourites, including All Gold Tomato Sauce, Mrs Ball’s Chutney and the popular All Gold range of jams. These iconic brands have been household staples for generations, and the new facility has been designed to improve manufacturing efficiency while maintaining the quality consumers have come to expect.

According to Tiger Brands, the modern production plant will enable more competitive manufacturing through improved technology and streamlined processes. Greater efficiency is expected to help manage production costs, with the long-term benefit of delivering better value to consumers in an increasingly competitive retail environment.

The investment also reinforces Paarl’s growing reputation as an important manufacturing hub within the Western Cape. Beyond enhancing production capacity, the facility is expected to contribute to local employment, skills development and the regional economy while strengthening Tiger Brands’ ability to meet demand across South Africa.

The opening of the new facility highlights continued confidence in South African manufacturing and demonstrates how strategic investment in modern infrastructure can help drive innovation, competitiveness and sustainable growth in the country’s food production sector.
