Cape Town Unveils Cutting-Edge Paediatric Orthopaedic Centre

Cape Town has unveiled a new R90 million paediatric orthopaedic facility at the Red Cross War Memorial Children’s Hospital, a major boost for child healthcare in the region.

The modern centre consolidates services previously scattered across different departments, creating a single, integrated hub for surgical procedures, rehabilitation, and follow-up care. It is expected to serve more than 5,000 young patients annually, offering advanced treatment in a compassionate environment.

City officials and hospital staff hailed the new facility as a milestone for paediatric care, easing pressure on surrounding hospitals and reducing travel for families from outlying areas. The centre stands as a testament to Cape Town’s investment in world-class medical infrastructure and its commitment to improving quality of life for children.
