Stellantis Named Official Vehicle Partner for Africa’s Travel Indaba 2026

Stellantis South Africa has been announced as the exclusive vehicle and transport partner for Africa’s Travel Indaba 2026, one of the continent’s largest tourism trade events, taking place at the Durban International Convention Centre from 11 to 14 May.

The partnership positions the global automaker at the centre of an event expected to attract more than 9,000 visitors and 1,200 exhibitors from across Africa’s tourism industry. Stellantis said the collaboration will highlight the importance of dependable mobility solutions in supporting tourism operations across urban, regional and remote destinations.

Speaking at the announcement, Stellantis South Africa Commercial Director Charl Timms said the future of tourism would depend on balancing sustainability, affordability and infrastructure readiness. He noted that mobility solutions needed to be adapted to local operating conditions and the practical needs of tourism operators across the continent.

As part of its involvement, Stellantis will showcase Peugeot and Citroën commercial vehicles during the event. The company said the exhibition would focus on transport solutions suited to tourism businesses, including passenger movement, logistics and fleet operations for small and medium-sized enterprises.

The announcement comes amid continued growth in South Africa’s tourism sector. According to Statistics South Africa, the country welcomed 10.5 million tourists in 2025, representing a 17.7% increase compared to the previous year. South African Tourism Chief Marketing Officer Sithembile Ndaba said partnerships with mobility providers play an important role in improving destination access, strengthening trade connections and supporting broader participation in the tourism economy.

Africa’s Travel Indaba remains one of the premier tourism marketing events on the African calendar, bringing together buyers, tourism businesses, government stakeholders, destination partners and media from across the world.
