Paarl is getting ready for a very special evening of music and celebration when local favourite Loren Erasmus, affectionately known as “The Pearl of Paarl,” takes to the stage for The Golden Concert on Saturday, 30 January 2027.
The concert marks Loren’s milestone 50th birthday and promises to be much more than a birthday celebration. It will be an evening celebrating five decades of life, music, memories, resilience and the people who have shaped her journey.
Known for her soulful voice and versatility, Loren’s repertoire spans classical, contemporary, jazz, gospel, Afrikaans and popular music. Over the years, she has performed at corporate events, festivals, community celebrations and other major occasions, building a reputation for her vocal ability, authenticity and powerful stage presence.
The Golden Concert will bring that journey to life through live music, storytelling, special guest performances and plenty of celebration. While the full line-up of guest artists is still being kept under wraps, audiences can expect a selection of special performers who will add to the nostalgia and excitement of the evening.
“The Golden Concert is not just a birthday party. It is a celebration of the journey — the highs, the lows, the people, the music and the lessons. I want everyone who walks through those doors to feel like they are part of the story,” says Loren.
There is also a deeper story behind Loren’s golden milestone.
As she enters a new chapter in her life and career, the vocalist is using her music to explore themes of resilience, womanhood, overcoming adversity and finding the courage to rise again.
Her latest single, A Woman Unbroken, released during Women’s Month, reflects that message. The emotional and empowering song encourages women to embrace their stories, honour their scars and recognise the strength they have gained through what they have overcome.
“I wanted to create something that speaks to every woman who has had to find her strength again,” says Loren.
For Loren, the song is personal — but its message is universal.
“A Woman Unbroken is a reminder that we can bend without breaking, that our scars can become part of our strength, and that no matter what life throws at us, we can rise again. I want women to hear this song and feel seen, encouraged and reminded of their own power.”

Away from the stage, Loren is also an entrepreneur and the founder of Chipo Productions, an initiative focused on building partnerships, developing talent, empowering communities and creating opportunities through music, business and collaboration.
